Hello friends,

November arrived with a first snow and colder air, yet the ground remains warm—still welcoming trees, shrubs, and late-season planting. Whether you’re mulching beds, refreshing landscapes, or simply admiring the changing leaves, fall persists in quiet beauty.

As our 54th growing season draws to a close, we remain open at our retail nursery in Aurora through early November. We’ll share our seasonal closing date on our website, social media, and email list.

We’re deeply grateful for the partnerships, projects, and moments that shaped this season. Thank you for being part of our growing community—rooted in beauty, resilience, and care for the land.

We look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.

Warmly,The Norm’s Greenhouse & Nursery Team

From Blank Slate to Prairie Escape

This fall, we had the honor of designing and installing a pollinator garden and gathering space for a client on a former home site—an open canvas ready to root. Inspired by South Dakota’s prairie plants, the planting features native species chosen for their movement, seasonal color, and ecological value.

Designing with North American prairie plants means creating beauty that belongs here. These plants offer habitat, food, and a resilience that echoes the land itself.

A blank slate ready for seasonal color, texture, increased stormwater management capacity, and erosion control measures. All through native plant installation.
