OUR PROCESS

We understand each garden project is unique, and look forward to discussing how to create an easily-managed garden space to meet your needs. We focus on designing and installing gardens designed with ecosystem services in mind, in a naturalistic style to provide all-season interest.

1. Consultation

Meet with Connor to discuss your garden project goals, timelines, management strategies, plant health questions, and begin the process to transforming your garden space.

From there, we can decide together which of the next steps of our process make sense for your project.

A few examples of recent consulting clients:

1. We plan, you plant

Consultation with followup documentation including planting recommendations, site preparation, and plant care notes for your own DIY work

2. Full service garden design & build

2. Design & Presentation

Connor's design concept development focuses on acheiving the functional goals for your landscape space, while offering wildlife and pollinators access to pollen, food sources, and habitat. We apply design principles with horticultural understanding, while emphasizing locally-grown materials and creating manageable, year-round interest for both humans and the ecosystem.

The presentation is a first viewing and review of the design elements, concept drawings, and preliminary plant pallettes. Feedback throughout the meeting and follow-up discussion will create a round of revisions to hone in the details of your project.

3. Revisions, Bid, Build

After the design is reviewed, we will collaborate to revise the drawings and documentation to fit your project goals.

Upon design finalization, Connor can assist in parts or all of the bid/build process. Based on your needs, we can assist with:

  • Full-service design, documentation, bidding, and installation

  • Documentation/drawings only

  • Project management of plant layout, design execution, materials procurement, specialty plant procurement, grading

4. Sustain

Carefully managing your landscape in the first two years after planting is essential for establishment, then strategic plans can be made to manage your self-sustaining landscape for the future. Plant care guides and consulting will always be provided at project completions and our retail location.

Additional sustainable landscape management documents can be produced specific to your landscape space if desired. Norm's team can also assist with some seasonal garden care services on a project by project basis.
