Get to Know Us

Norm's Greenhouse & Nursery is a proudly family-owned, third-generation destination in South Dakota, founded in 1971 by Norman and Dianna Evers. Our journey began with Norm's dedication and hard work, continued with Colin's innovative touch, and now blends tradition with fresh ideas through Connor. We offer the largest variety of plants in the area, specializing in green goods; so we don't offer shelved items like fertilizer, seed, un-planted patio pots, soil, etc.

Our knowledgeable team of staff can assist with any landscape project, no matter the size. We grow and pot many of our plants on-site, from greenhouse crops like vegetable transplants, succulents, and annual bedding plants, to landscape shrubs, trees, and evergreens.

Right plant, right place

We prioritize quality-grown plants, proper site preparation, and educated plant selection, believing these factors lead to successful plantings.

"There are no bad plants, just bad sites." -Norm Evers

Commitment to Native Plants and Naturalistic Design

We continuously develop our inventory of native and selected native varieties. We have expanded our display gardens at the entrance of our property to feature naturalistic perennial gardens with many native plants and selections of native plants..Offering wildlife and pollinators access to pollen, food sources, and habitat are ecological benefits that we are passionate about providing to our community's ecosystem.

We offer naturalistic garden design services, emphasizing locally grown materials and creating manageable, year-round interest for both humans and the ecosystem.

""We focus on educating any customer that comes to us for information. We want every plant we sell to thrive, not just survive....We are growers, and trial everything before we sell to our customers"
-Colin Evers, Sales Manager and Grower
